1860 Aluette cards  A variation of the Spanish pattern peculiar to the French region of Brittany.  Rev: small repeating design in brown. 38/48 missing 2 and 3 of Batons, 4,5,6,7,8 JQK of Cups. The cards are in poor condition probably because of bad storage, but old Aluette packs are very scarce. £52
526 National Card Co (USA) 1885 National Club Playing Cards No 75.  Advertised by the card company as its best quality of playing card. Label stuck on reverse of box states 'Fashion series 2'. 52 + good special joker with box in very good condition. VF £80

1885 Hungarian Seasons pattern. Fine printing, stencil coloured. Tax stamp on 7 bells, green outer around red imperial crown. Large cards 74x114mm. Reverse; floral design in blue and white. 32. VF  £95
314 Grimaud 1890 Standard Paris, design by Gatteaux. 4 indices, wreath and IC watermark. Good quality card. 1853 tax reference on JC. 1890 tax stamp on Ace of Clubs. 52 with JOKER (unusual to find a joker) Tourel, Avignon on banner under the joker. VF+ reserved £80

Soo Sik Pai, Chinese four suited chess cards, 4 suits of 14 cards, coloured faces. Red, green, yellow and white. Rev; Glossy yellow. 56/56 with wrapper bearing gorilla(?) picture + ‘TRADE MARK’. Cards measure 5cm long and are in mint condition.

488 USPCCo 1900 Standard American Congress 606 pictorial series ‘Peaceful Vale’ with monochrome photograph on reverse repeated on the joker. 52 + J + blank card with telescopic box in good condition. VF with traces of gold edges. Complete item with all cards and box present, jokers are usually missing from these packs.  £40
655 USPCCo 1900 Trophy Whist #39 Standard American. An early and scarce pack copyrighted design in 1895. This pack is c.1900 just before the 'Whist' title was changed to 'Bridge'. It was not a popular design with the small card faces and so is relatively more scarce than other USPCCo designs.  52 cards with traces of gilt edges + original box. They have been played with a fair bit and so the card surface shows this use, but there are no tears or damage (fair condition overall, box in good condition, no missing parts).  reserved £18

1900 Tally-ho Standard American pattern with large indices and unturned courts. Tally-ho AS also bears number '5-F5301-58.9' Geometric pattern on reverse in red with Japanese motifs. 52 used VF, few creases. £35

Standard English, 2 indices, anonymous AS, red and blue and black printing only, ‘Pasha’ brand. Reverse: Stylised floral pattern in blue on white. 52+J with the box but missing end flaps. EF

182 USPCCo Cincinnati 1910 Sportsman's No 202. Russell and Morgan factories. Standard American, 2 indices, unturned courts. Reverse is red/white pattern. 52 VF+ very good quality card, gilt edges. £35

1935 Saxon double ended pattern. Salon Karte nr 148 ‘Kornblume’ which refers to the design on the back of stylised cornflowers. Deutches Riech tax stamp with swastika for district 90 Frankfurt. 32+box VF

491 Fournier 1935 Spanish ‘Castillian’ pattern by Fournier. 4 cups states ‘Marca monte’, 4 coins bears maker’s name, 5 swords has Spanish one peseta tax stamp. Rev: orange squiggles with small central diamond-shaped panel. 40+box with original sealing band. VF+

1945 Gin Rummy boxed set  with two packs of New Bond (Universal PCCo) playing cards in boxes, rule book, score pads and outer box. All EF including cards which are both 52+J. A nice item originally priced at 12/6d. I £20

Four seasons standard Hungarian pattern named in Hungarian. 32 cards with paper wrapper ‘Magyar Kartya’ Luxus no 129. Cards EF, complete wrapper with minor tears and some wear. £14

Standard Spanish no 32. 4 of coins dated 1962. Good quality cards ‘clase opaca’ and colour printing. 48 cards with 2 title cards and wrapper mainly intact but missing top flap. Good VF. £12
