915	De La Rue	1863	Royal Wedding 1863 Princess Alexandra produced for her marriage to Edward the Prince of Wales, who became King Edward VII on the death of his mother Queen Victoria. The back design shows the Danish royal coat of arms of her father King Christian IX of Denmark. Full set of 52 cards which have been played with (se illustration), but the edges and corners are all good, no creases or damage. A good set.	£275
523	USPCCo	1895	British Columbia Souvenir Cards published by Clarke & Stuart Vancouver, with oval photographic views. Reverse of a lakeside vignette surrounded by colourful maple leaves. 52+J+list+box(good). VF with gilt edges.	£65
913	De La Rue	1900	Queen Victoria's Visit to Ireland 1900 an extremely rare commemorative back for the Queen's visit to Ireland. The Queen visited Ireland in 1900 to appeal to Irishmen to join the fight against the Boers. Arthur Griffith led the opposition to the visit and later established a new political party Sinn Fein which led to the formation of the Irish Free State. This is a 32 card set which has been well used and has faults to three cards. 32/32 Used VF-	£120
657	USPCCo	1900	New York City Souvenir Playing Cards featuring '53 Principal views of interest'. The four suits have oval photos in different colours of landmarks and views in and around the city. This is the earlier version before the border was added to the reverse. Cards are in good condition with most of the edge gilding still remaining (though not so bright on the vertical sides). A good complete set of 52 cards + the joker + a blank spare and the original telescopic box in very good condition (usually missing flaps and splitting). VF	£80
982	Goodall	1900	Ocean to Ocean with oval photographic views. The reverse and the joker has the arms of 9 provinces. (Compare this with the 11 provinces on item 658 Ocean to Ocean below - the 2 added arms are the 2 at the very foot of the design, Saskatchewan and Alberta.) 52 +J +list of views + 1 blank card. Lightly used VF with good gold edges.	£42

912	Goodall	1902	Coronation souvenir Queen Alexandra companion pack to Edward VII. Very nice chromolithographed design showing the Queen inside the Royal Garter against an ermine background. Unfortunately missing two cards JS and QH, but a bargain for singles. The overall colour of the cards is slightly beige, front and back. Used VF 50/52	£50

658	Goodall	1912	Ocean to Ocean with oval photographic views. Produced just after George V became king the back has the arms of the 11 provinces. AS has the maker's name under the photo. The cards are as new with bright gilded edges. The box is in good condition and complete although sides of the outer case are splitting as usual, inner case without any splits. Fine item. 52+J +box +list of views. EF	£65

983	Darter Bros	1920	South Africa Souvenir Playing Cards A scarce set of pictorial views of South Africa with each suit having the same pictures. A good joker of a young smiling African. Darter Brothers & CO were family stationers and printers based in Cape Town. The reverse of the card has the colony's coat of arms. 52+J+blank with original box (outer case sides with seam splits but all present). Used VF	£55
1020	Goodall	1920	Robertson Tartan Clan Tartan series, with tartan and crest showing motto ''Virtutis Gloria Merces' 52 used VF with scarce telescopic box stating London Playing Cards "Retree" (missing top end of outer box). One of teh less common tartan series.	£25
949	De La Rue	1925	Roslin Hall Hotel Torquay In Belgrave Road, no longer in existence. A good early souvenir pack for this old Torquay hotel. The scene shows the hotel grounds with a tennis player and some other guests. Monochrome green. Wide format cards. DLR's 'Superior' brand. 52+J VF	£18

953	Waddington	1950	Transport and General Workers Union (TGWU) Convalescent Home at Littleport Cambridgeshire. The convalescent home opened in 1921 and closed in 1984 (so far as I know) and was used by the RAF from 1939 to 1946. This is an unusual 'advertising/souvenir pack with a good photogrpah of the building. (The TGWU ceased under that name in 2007, now Unite) 52+J in very good condition, hardly used, with original box.	£25

985	Fournier	1957	East Africa Souvenir cards. People, views and animals. Each suit a slightly different colour monochrome photograph (eg clubs - sepia, hearts - greenish) 4 of clubs bears maker’s name and tax stamp. Gold corners. Good complete set. 52 +2J + title card + paper map + telescopic box. EF excellent throughout, a good gift set.	£48
1009	Fournier	1960	Denmark Souvenir cards. A very fine, complete and relatively scarce souvenir double set with the people and places of Denmark. Each deck is 52+2J+title card (110 cards in total). Gilded corners. There are two booklets in Spanish and English, (population of Denmark is given for 1956), two control slips and the original box (inner has had corners repaired at some time.) All cards are EF unused. Exportation tax stamp on 4 of Clubs.	£50

848	Carta Mundi	1976	Scarce double pack for Queen Elizabeth's Silver Jubilee in 1977. Non-standard pack specially designed by Susan Rae. A limited edition not generally on sale, for private distribution. The suits are Tudor roses, thistles, shamrocks and daffodils for each of the four home nations. One pack is still sealed, the other is 52 + 2J in EF condition, together with the original black flock and silver paper box and the important 'limited edition' notice.	£80
