Royal Wedding 1863 Princess Alexandra produced for her marriage to Edward the Prince of Wales, who became King Edward VII on the death of his mother Queen Victoria. The back design shows the Danish royal coat of arms of her father King Christian IX of Denmark. Full set of 52 cards which have been played with (se illustration), but the edges and corners are all good, no creases or damage. A good set. | £275 |

1900 | Queen Victoria's Visit to Ireland 1900 an extremely rare commemorative back for the Queen's visit to Ireland. The Queen visited Ireland in 1900 to appeal to Irishmen to join the fight against the Boers. Arthur Griffith led the opposition to the visit and later established a new political party Sinn Fein which led to the formation of the Irish Free State. 1900 | New York City Souvenir Playing Cards featuring '53 Principal views of interest'. The four suits have oval photos in different colours of landmarks and views in and around the city. This is the earlier version before the border was added to the reverse. Cards are in good condition with most of the edge gilding still remaining (though not so bright on the vertical sides). A good complete set of 52 cards + the joker + a blank spare and the original telescopic box in very good condition (usually missing flaps and splitting). VF | £80 |

The convalescent home opened in 1921 and closed in 1984 (so far as I know) and was used by the RAF from 1939 to 1946. This is an unusual 'advertising/souvenir pack with a good photogrpah of the building. (The TGWU ceased under that name in 2007, now Unite) 52+J in very good condition, hardly used, with original box. | £25 |

Gilded corners. There are two booklets in Spanish and English, (population of Denmark is given for 1956), two control slips and the original box (inner has had corners repaired at some time.) All cards are EF unused. Exportation tax stamp on 4 of Clubs. |
