Miniature cards very rare, early standard pattern miniature pack with square cut corners and no indices. Good quality card with enamelled plain green coloured backs. Red and black printing only. Ace of Spades: Goodall & Son London. 52 with the original outer part of the box. The cards are good VF, the box is worn and split but some of the wording can be read. |

No.30 Patience cards - Four corners of the World, this is a fascinating copy of the Dondorf No 27 patience. Round cornered with indices and a borders. The 4 Diamonds bears name and also the King of Hearts, all other courts are blank where original has 'Dondorf'. Tax on 4 Hearts. The legends for the aces are in Portuguese. Each suit represents a different continent. Reverse: a mirror image of the Dondorf design without any writing..52 + most of the box (no top or bottom flap). Cards are used and only VF. A rare item. This is a perfect little set in a superb leather box sold by Brew & Son of Piccadilly Circus London W. Both sets comprise 52 cards with a joker and a blank making 108 cards altogether. 1925 | Orient Line to Australia A really lovely early double patience set of cards in outstanding condition. Not rare, but I haven't seen one as good as this before. 52+J and 52+J with bright gold edges. Non-standard Ace of Spades for the Orient Line. Complete with special crested box, with advert inside, in excellent condition and gold edged 40 page booklet 'Some patience games' explained by HAH Carson printed by Waddington in 1924 with back page advert for Orient Line Mail Steamers. An excellent present for someone.... |

1925 | Named pair 'A double point' showing a good painting of two pointers on a heather moorland by Vaughan. Both sets of cards are in mint condition with fresh gold edges. 4 indices and a Waddington Ace of Spades. This set was imported into ARGENTINA by Mitchells' English Bookstore and has an Argentinean tax stamp on the Ace of Hearts and a retailer's label in the box. Box is not perfect but good. 52+J+1 and 52+J+1 + box and packer's slip. Lovely set. |

The box is a typical little 1930s gem with thin gold lines on blue paper, textured gilt lining paper inside. 52 cards + another pack with the wrapper + the original box. All very good clean condition. |
