367 De La Rue 1952 Allegretto and Alfresco, named double pack of Italian canal scenes in Venice. Pneumatic cards, one pack with gold border, one with silver border. Both packs 52+J in EF condition with excellent textured padded-top box.  £50

An even chance, narrow named cards with lovely greyhound racing picture. Produced for the WD &HO Wills promotion of the 1930s, this is one of the rarest designs. Double bezique set with 64 cards +1 joker, rules, 2 scoring markers and good hinge topped box. All very good condition, the cards excellent and silver edged. Would make a good present.

449 De La Rue 1935 Antirrhinums Nasturtiums named double pack, full colour printing with gold decoration. 52+J and 52+J both packs EF with good gold edges. Double hinge lidded box with DLR metal label and silver printing Mawson, Swan and Morgan Ltd, City Stationers, Newcastle upon Tyne. £50
483 Waddington 1935 Backing a point with signed painting by Vaughan of two pointers in the heather. Cards have been well used and are slightly grubby. One or two minor creases. F £16
413 Waddington 1955 Big Ben, London Double pack in the Beautiful Britain series. Both packs sealed in tax wrapper. Box in mint condition with outer cardboard 'posting' box. £30

275 Waddington 1925 Black Grouse named full colour design signed by William Barribal on gold and silver background. Buff coloured border. Gilt edges (worn). Wide bordered courts. 52 good VF with telescopic box, inner case printed with gold text ‘With compliments from OATES Ltd Worksop.’ £20

Boy with Rabbit by Raeburn and The boyhood of Raleigh by Millais double pack of reproductions of these famous paintings. Both packs sealed. Box (damaged) and two bridge blocks.

591 Universal 1930 Bruce, companion to Scat, terrier looking up at spider dangling from its web. Red colouring to borders. 52 well used condition, JH surface damage (illustrated), £10
623 Waddington 1930 Buttterfly and Moth. Two lovely designs by Barribal. Good gold edges on both packs. Moth has a crease on Ace of Spades, but is in excellent condition otherwise. Butterfly pack is unused. 52 cards with two blank cards and the original box in good condition. EF £60

The Goal and The Save, two superb full colour Polo designs by artist Paul Brown (both packs signed)  These are very scarce packs. Unusual in that one has 4 indices and the other 2 indices. 52+52 with the original box (not perfect, inscribed inside in gold letters "With compliments British Insulated Cables Ltd Preston Lancs.") and two bridge scoring booklets dated 1932. Both packs good condition. £60

1935 Miss Hittie a fabulous golfing design from the 1930s featuring a very attractive girl. Artist uncertain. 'Narrow named' card with the title in gold. This would make a super present as it is complete and in mint condition. Unmarked gilded edges. 52+J  with original box. Mint condition (I suspect the tax wrapper was recently removed to see the cards as there are no signs of any use at all.)  £34

A desirable Barribal design with one of his typically upper class ladies with a very fine hat sipping a cocktail and looking rather alluringly over her shoulder. Yellow border with silver line. The cards have been well used, but the original box is a gem with a super design very much of the period. VF- £12
