1960 | 17th Lancers and Grenadier Guards A very attractive double set of military uniform illustrations showing soldiers of these two regiments with striped borders and the title in gold letters at the foot of each card. This is still sealed in the cellophane wrapper (beginning to unstick at one end but not undone) with the 1960 Waddington seal which they introduced as a quality mark for a short time when tax wrappers were abolished in 1960. | £34 |

1925 | 'A double point' named pair showing a good painting of two pointers on a heather moorland by Vaughan. Both sets of patience cards are in mint condition with fresh gold edges. 4 indices and a Waddington Ace of Spades. This set was imported into ARGENTINA by Mitchells' English Bookstore and has an Argentinean tax stamp on the Ace of Hearts and a retailer's label in the box. Box is not perfect but good. 52+J+1 and 52+J+1 + box and packer's slip. (Patience card size 44x67mm) Lovely set. |

Unusual in that one has 4 indices and the other 2 indices. 52+52 with the original box (not perfect, inscribed inside in gold letters "With compliments British Insulated Cables Ltd Preston Lancs.") and two bridge scoring booklets dated 1932. Both packs good condition, good VF. A good present for a polo fan, something to do while you're not replacing divots! | £60 |
