1908 Stage Playing Cards A very attractive American pack depicting 53 stars of the stage with oval photographs in the centre of ornate borders (a different border for each suit). A scarce and complete item with 52 cards + the joker, in a contemporary leather case. The cards are in excellent condition with bright gold edges. The case is missing a small piece of spine and inside is stamped 'Patented March 1900' (If you are searching a particular star email me to see if he/she is in the pack.) £175
414 Waddington 1930 Double pack of dancers by William Barribal.  'Amorette series' (nos. 373 and 374) slender cards. Silver pack 52+J, mauve pack 52, both used VF. Traces of gilt edges. Padded-top box. £45

1948 'Laurence Olivier as Hamlet'.  A full colour painting of Sir Larry in one his most famous title roles from the film of Shakespeare's play. Mint pack in the cellophane wrapper, which is open at the top and small piece missing, with the JW Ltd gold seal. (Although the seal is broken the cards are undisturbed.) £32

1962 Chichester Festival Theatre A very nice and scarce double set of cards for the theatre which was opened in 1962. The inaugural artistic director was Sir Laurence Olivier. 52+J and 52+J with original box and Waddington's quality control slip. Both sets have been very lightly used. VF+. Would make a good gift item.

682 Carta Mundi 1980s Rock 'N' Pop commissioned by Sony Tape, 18 superstars are portrayed by "8 of Britain's leading illustrators". Stars are: Sting, Boy George, Toyah, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Elvis, Diana Ross, Lionel Ritchie, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Tina Turner, Rod Stewart, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Olivia Newton-John, Barry Manilow, Tracey Ullman and Captain Sensible. This is complete with 52 cards + 2J + list + box, but no leaflet. Everything is in very good condition. VF+

New Musical Express Pop stars and legends Complete set with 52 cards and 2 different jokes. Issued by NME with the magazine to collect. Every card with a photo of a pop music personality from the last 30 years, many of them looking quite young. (If you want to know if a particular star is in the pack please email, I'm not listing 54 names! Excellent condition, no box (I've not a seen a box for these cards.) Now scarce and a good investment.

685 Spears Games 1990s Brookside quiz cards. Over 300 questions and answers on the TV soap. Mint with sealed cards. Complete with the die and the leaflet. Box in excellent condition. Completely unused.

An even chance, narrow named cards with lovely greyhound racing picture. Produced for the WD &HO Wills promotion of the 1930s, this is one of the rarest designs. Double bezique set with 64 cards +1 joker, rules, 2 scoring markers and good hinge topped box. All very good condition, the cards excellent and silver edged. Would make a good present.

1935 McCaddie  (a companion design to Miss Hittie) a lovely painting depicting a cheeky young Scot's lad squinting into the sun, a golf bag over his shoulder. 52+J+slip in original box. All in excellent unused condition. Cards with bright 24ct gold edges. A super item. £48

 1951 Baraja Taurina Illustrations of famous bull fighters by Martinez de Leon, all 52 cards depict bull fighters from 1912 to 1951. Each card has a painting and the name of the bullfighter. Printed 2 pesetas tax stamp on 4C and number 456. 52 cards + 2 joker + leaflet + original box. Gold corners. All in very good condition. VF+ A fine example of this scarce set.  £52

Full colour pictures giving the name and the date at which they became matadors. There is an indistinct tax stamp on the 4 of clubs. Complete set (as originally issued) of 52 cards + 2 jokers + bridge score card + leaflet + packing slip + original plastic case with 'gold' inner lining. 1910 The Wonderful Wizards Pack This is a rare opportunity to acquire an early magic deck of tapered cards. They look no different from a Steamboat 999 deck but the cards are very slightly tapered so that any card placed back into the deck can be easily located. The box still has the imported duty wrapper and more importantly the label on the duty wrapper. Complete set of 52 cards + instructions leaflet and box. No jokers were issued with this deck according to the label. VF lightly used. £60

A special pack of 48 cards consisting of 24 different cards and 24 key cards.
