British Columbia Souvenir Cards published by Clarke & Stuart Vancouver, with oval photographic views. Reverse of a lakeside vignette surrounded by colourful maple leaves. 52+J+list+box(good). VF with gilt edges. £65

1900 New York City Souvenir Playing Cards featuring '53 Principal views of interest'. The four suits have oval photos in different colours of landmarks and views in and around the city. This is the earlier version before the border was added to the reverse. Cards are in good condition with most of the edge gilding still remaining (though not so bright on the vertical sides). A good complete set of 52 cards + the joker + a blank spare and the original telescopic box in very good condition (usually missing flaps and splitting). VF £80

1908 Stage Playing Cards A very attractive American pack depicting 53 stars of the stage with oval photographs in the centre of ornate borders (a different border for each suit). A scarce and complete item with 52 cards + the joker, in a contemporary leather case. The cards are in excellent condition with bright gold edges. The case is missing a small piece of spine and inside is stamped 'Patented March 1900' (If you are searching a particular star email me to see if he/she is in the pack.) £175

1910 The Wonderful Wizards Pack This is a rare opportunity to acquire an early magic deck of tapered cards. They look no different from a Steamboat 999 deck but the cards are very slightly tapered so that any card placed back into the deck can be easily located. The box still has the imported duty wrapper and more importantly the label on the duty wrapper. Complete set of 52 cards + instructions leaflet and box. No jokers were issued with this deck according to the label. VF lightly used. £60

1910 Bicycle No 808 Russell & Morgan standard US face,  wide cards with nice illustrations of early bicycles on the reverse. Ivory finish cards, 'League back' sold in Canada (where USPCCo eventually opened a factory around 1910 moving to Windsor in 1918.) 52 used VF no creases and original box.  £48

Picturesque Canada for Canadian Pacific Railways. 52 views in oval frames. Joker is horizontal view of ‘Totem poles in British Columbia’. Rev: Large building in river valley, gold border. 52+J+1+list+box. Good VF £50

1910 Brer Rabbit A good example of this very scarce American game based on the Brer Rabbit stories which were widely told amongst the Negro people and collected by Joel Chandler Harris in the 19th century. The rules cards states 'By permission of the publisher of Books for the Bairns, the illustrations in the book Brer Rabbit have been made use of in this game.' Complete set of 39/39 with the rules card and the original telescopic box in very good condition. Good VF and clean for its age. £65

1930 Bok Bird Sanctuary Florida the famous Singing Tower is a national landmark. Title written in black script on the gold line just below the tower. The foreground shows some people relaxing by the water. 52 VF with the outer case of the box missing the end section. £14

1955 Models of All Nations A good early black and white edition of this popular series. Clearly a second overprinting of the corner indices over the photographs. These b/w sets are now scarce. Photos retouched in line with the legal requirements of the time. Excellent example of its type and the period. 52 + joker + 'extra joker'. Has been used for card playing.

Rider Waite Tarot First produced in 1910 and still a very popular design. Illustrations by Pamela Coleman Smith in collaboration with the occultist Arthur Edward Waite. Complete set 78+2 + booklet + box (good). Cards are in excellent condition. (Postage as for a double set because of weight.)
